I come from seeds
Seeds to sow
Seeds to fill my soul
I am a seed sower
Sower of souls

I was old and fractured
before I was young
before I could ever become
a girl, a teen, a lady, a woman
a mother, a wife and someone other

Day 2 - Big Sur - April 10
Big Sur
Dear Friends,
Today we hung on the edge of reality riding Highway 1 down the Big Sur. It's one of the most beautiful and spectacular drives in all of North America. Here are a few poems thatt we found along the way.
MOBILE POEM
This vehicle
Burrito Barge
Rolling through local color
Down Juan Higuera Creek
Along the Big Sur River.
State your being
Dude
K&K
STATION INFORMATION
Lucia
Lucious spirit garden
Hardened
"Are there enough penisi in poetry"?
That fragrance reminds me
Of my mom getting ready for bed.
Truck driver
Do yah want some potatoe chips
No rush, no room for potatoe chips
K&K
F**K ESALEN
Money grubbing
Ocean hoarding
Priority male
Facile Castle
Turnout
Money can't buy
The invisible,
Only the unnecessary,
Rough road ahead
Wheelies in bed
Lodging in the angle of repose
Impervious surfaces
Listening to waves crashing
Against empty dollars.
K&K
Flooding During A Storm
Inspiration comes from the sea
The forerunner of black dust
There are no sheep here
Metaphorically speaking
Crossing bridges
We got a thumbs up
The winding long road
Ends at the
signalling phallus
of the middle kingdom.
K&K
We who dare
Be ourselves
Pledge on this eighth year
Of the 21st Century
Allegiance to Paul and Mary Spiedell
Who adopted this highway
Some years ago
Without sound mind or body
The chateau on the hill
Overlooked the lone madrone
Tasting the dirt
Of future vineyards
K&K
It's late and Isaias, June, Erica and Irina are sleeping
See you in San Diego
Ken and Kurt

Day 1 - Santa Cruz - April 9
Dear Friends,
The Tour has arrived to Santa Cruz and it seems as if we have already entered in to another time and space thanks to the mystery of the Giant Redwoods and Aunt Bernice. We are staying with Nora and John who have welcomed us as part of their family and I think we can all say that today our experience is that of being "on the road". A life that doesn't respect schedules and plans, expectations and deadlines, arrival and departure times. Tomorrow we continue on Highway 1 to Santa Barbara and Los Angeles and then on friday to San Diego so stay tuned for the further adventures of Walt VanGo and the Poetic Opening Tour.
Ken, Kurt, Isaias, Erika, June, Irina, Nora, John and Aunt Bernice
